Finished doll

Here is my finished doll, it is my first independent full-body sculpt (made without help of a tutor), so lots of mistakes :)))

New doll

Well, straight away after I took a class with Claudine, I have started making a new doll, just not to forget everything I have learned. So it is my first independent doll :))) This is what I've got so far: Dreading making fingers and toes... :)))

Doll sculpting class with Claudine Roelens

It's almost 2 months as I am back from Belgium, but only now I got around writing about it in my english blog :)) The workshop with Claudine was awesome! I have sculpted my first doll with a help from Claudine. I discovered that sculpting dolls is a very serious and labouring process :) We started with making a brass armature (soldering is fun!) and making a polymer clay scull. Then we made a body and added legs Oh my God, making toes is difficult! :)) Then we sculpted hands. The fingers are almost as OMG! as toes :))) Then we added a face, and here is an almost finished doll: And here is my fairy all finished. I am very happy with her!

I couldn't not buy one of Claudine's busts. Isn't she gorgeous??? What a hairstyle!

I had a chance to get to my craft table for a bit, decided to make something I know how to do well :))) All new items are now in my shop

Another face

I think I finally made I face I want to make a body for. I was making this face probably for a couple of weeks, adding clay, removing clay. The eyes still need pupils. I made the eyes from white Fimo. Here is a good tutorial for the handmade glass-like eyes. I haven't finished them though, I was too impatient to use them for my face, that I decided that these eye will do for now.
I think this doll will have a red hair :))

New face

Here is a new face I tried to make. No ears yet, my enthusiam has ran out before making ears, when I just baked the head as it is :)) The clay is dirty, as it is just a head for exercise :))

Sculpting faces

I am slowly getting back to clay, stretching my fingers and scratching the right side of my brain head. After I put little Ross to sleep I sacrifice a couple of hour of my own sleep to clay.
I am not interested in making jewellery at the moment, have no inspiration for jewellery making whatsoever. So I decided to try myself in something else - in doll-making. Made a couple of faces so far :)) The first face was a bit of a Martian looking




Second face I made yesterday was a little better, I think :))





With my speed I will probably make a doll by the end of the year :))
