Here is a new face I tried to make. No ears yet, my enthusiam has ran out before making ears, when I just baked the head as it is :)) The clay is dirty, as it is just a head for exercise :)) Next to previous face.
I am slowly getting back to clay, stretching my fingers and scratching the right side of my brain head. After I put little Ross to sleep I sacrifice a couple of hour of my own sleep to clay. I am not interested in making jewellery at the moment, have no inspiration for jewellery making whatsoever. So I decided to try myself in something else - in doll-making. Made a couple of faces so far :)) The first face was a bit of a Martian looking
Second face I made yesterday was a little better, I think :)) With my speed I will probably make a doll by the end of the year :))
Like probably all of us, I have loads of clay leftovers, cane ends, dirty clay pieces, etc. I separated all my leftovers into groups of different colours, and mixed every group into one colour. I ended up with a lovely collection of muted colours:
Also I had a great number of various little cutters, most of which I never used:
The muted tones of clay leftovers reminded me of retro floral patterns, so after combining my beautiful clay leftovers and those tiny cutters here what came out:
Multicolour necklace: If you didn't like the patterns of the beads, you can wear a necklace from a wrong side:))
Bright patterns of black background:
A few pendants in retro style :) And just red and white beads That is it for now :))
While visiting us, my mother taught me how to find a little time for hobbies with a baby in the house :)) So here what I created so far, using my new and old flower canes:
Pink beads and white agate
Lilac beads
Red
Black and white beads and snowflake obsidian
Black and white pendant and black agate beads
Inside the polymer clay beads I've put some Sculpey Ultra light to make polymer beads a bit lighter :)
My mother came over for a couple of weeks to see her new grandson. She turned out to be such a great babysitter, that I managed to get to my clay table and make some jewellery. I didn't have time to try out anything new or to experiment with new techniques, so I only made something my hands remembered how to do :)) First of all I had to make this necklace on custom order: Then I made new poppies, and assembled some old flowers, which I made almost a year ago, into bracelets and earrings. Also I made a few thimbles They all are now in my shop :)) Well, that is it :)) I guess next time I will get to my clay table when my mom comes again, or my baby goes to school :)))
My name is Zuleykha. I am 34 years old. For as long as I remember myself, I always loved creating something with my own hands. I have been sewing clothes, knitting, stitching; then it was creating jewelery from polymer clay for a while. Now I am a very busy mum of a two years old little boy, and have a very little time for crafts, but I am trying to do as much as I can when I get a chance. One of my blogs is in Russian (Stitch'n'clay), the other one is in English (Zuleykha's polymer clay), they are slightly different in content, but they both have lots of pictures in them, so please choose the one you like, and (I hope) enjoy reading :)
